Former fast bowler Wahab Riaz has been appointed as the Chief Selector by the National Selection Committee. His first assignment will be to select the Pakistani team for the Test series in Australia from December 14 to January 7 and the T20 series in New Zealand from January 12 to 21.

Wahab Riaz, who began his international career in 2008, secured a total of 237 wickets in 27 Tests, 91 ODIs, and 36 T20 internationals, scoring 1200 runs. He remained Pakistan’s second-highest wicket-taker with 35 wickets in three ICC World Cups.

Expressing his honor at becoming the head of the National Selection Committee, Wahab Riaz thanked Zaka Ashraf, the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s Management Committee, for placing trust in him for this responsibility.
